A belated Happy New Year to you all.
I hope you are all busy casting and painting............personally, I have done nothing with my 40mm collection for the last few months - I really must do something as I have a pile of them cast and ready for painting. I have however been working with Chris Tubb with respect to further additions to the range to be released once the British infantry are complete - so there is more coming (if there is a market for them).
Peter's Figures
In the last post I asked Peter (Peter Michael Prow) to let me have some photos of his painted figures - here are some he kindly sent me - he clearly has a much steadier hand than I do!
The figures are all are painted with Games Workshop acrylics, (he works there) heavily coated with thick a thick brushed on coat of Humbrol gloss.
Austria - Bercheny Hussars - Senior Officer
Britain - 15th Light Dragoons
Prussia - Szekely Hussars - Officer
,
France - Royal Nassau Hussars - Trooper
Prussia - Le Noble Freikorps
Russia - Officer, Grenadiers and a few Pandour
Austria - Senior Officer
Prussia - Von Kleist Freikorps
Quite superb, he has done a really lovely job on them, very nice indeed.
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
DeleteThanks for this :)
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to finding out what's in the pipeline after the English
They are finally sculpting Prussian cuirassiers.
DeleteAlso under consideration are North American irregulars.
Good new to hear that the SYW-range remains alive with new moulds. Good news that Prussian cuirassiers enter in the PA rooms. If PA decides to produce North American irregulars, my input would be for native warriors, that they are not half naked and second that the concept of multiple arms could add a lot of variety to a figure as they did probably not fight in european battle order style. I think it would be a good idea. The advantage of North America for the SYW is that number of soldiers were smaller than for European battles.
DeleteGreat to hear that the SYW-range is further growing.
DeleteWonderful pictures. I love the painting style of the miniatures and Peter Michael Prow is an idol and inspiration for me if it comes to paint the little soldiers. Little mistake in the picture title of the Szekely husar: it is a unit from Prussia, not Austria.
ReplyDeleteHussar nation is my typo - I will correct.
DeleteGood to see all of them on this blog. Great job, Peter Michael Prow.
